Fathers Day. Should have been more prepared. Waited ages to get served. Entree took an hour. Two hours later with two little restless kids, no sign of any mains. A table of 12 got up & left & we followed soon after hungary. Lots of apologies but later admitted hadnt even started our food yet. Charged us $90.00 for drinks & entrees then we left.

waited two hours for food. 3 other tables left. took an hour for entrees. Then waited an hour for mains and they weren’t even started. so would of waited 40mins for that to cook. So we left. paid $90 for entree and drinks. very disappointed. they prioritised take away over dining in.

Always beautiful food but two hours wait on Father’s Day and my partners birthday with two young kids waiting for dinner is not good enough. The wait times are a problem and four other tables thought the same and left before getting mains.

We popped in to Majestic by chance and it’s very much an older school no glitz or glamour restaurant which is dated but somehow fitting. The staff were friendly and very attentive, we had no issues at all with portion sizes which were perfectly adequate. The prices were reasonable for 2024 where you can often see a parmi start nudging 30 dollars, paying mid 20’s for a traditional style chinese was not silly. The potion was also very generous with the meat element which was a real surprise, sometimes it can be hide and seek in a sea of vegetables. The entries were delicious and again traditional style, not mass produced items you get from noodle box type arrangements. It’s well worth going there for a meal

A 3.9 star Google reviews says it all! Although the chef is from Malaysia, his cooking style had no hints of an authentic “Malaysian Chinese chef”. Don’t get me wrong – it is not a Malaysian Chinese restaurant after all. The food is edible and acceptable by general western standards but a little let down by general “Chinese restaurant” standards. The fish dishes are cooked using fillet cuts and not using the whole fish (most authentic Chinese restaurants give the whole fish, unless otherwise stated) but what was featured on the menu is a picture of a fish dish (under the fish category), with the whole fish being served. A little confusing, but we checked this with the Caucasian owner, who clarified this & agreed that it was also misleading. I also observed from the menu, and I suspect that the various sauces are pre-prepared in advance and whatever choice of meat you select, it is fried with the sauce of your choice, just like how most Asian take-aways (non-dine-in) do. Surely and hopefully, you wouldn’t expect this from a “restaurant”, as the prices charged are not “take-away” prices. However, the service was good and the front-of-house staffs were attentive. The decor looked quite authentic for a Chinese restaurant. Personally, my food expectations does not match with the detail of decor the restaurant had. A 3 star rating is a fair rating for the food quality but I will give a 5 star for the decor and an almost 5 star for the service.
