I’ve been eating at this place for quite some time. I think I mostly take away, I never had a chance to dine in.
From the review I read, 1 stars probably complaining about services.
I agree this is not a high-end restaurant, and this is Chinatown. What do you expect
Yes, some restaurants really give a good service, but mostly are pretty expensive.
But this place is not cheap either.
The food here is mostly above average.
Only the hot and sour soup is not too good.
Service for me is average as what I expected in Chinatown.
Definitely will come back to try other food.
BYO is welcome here, but forget how much the corkage fee is.

07/09/2024 at 7:40 amGreat atmosphere, great food, good service by the owner.
I ordered the famous lobster noodle, fried rice, shark fin with crab meat soup, Sliced abalone with oyster sauce and some other menus.
Love the freshness of the ingredients

06/08/2024 at 6:58 pmSupper Inn is well known hidden Melbourne institution! They serve a mix of Chinese dishes, specialising in Cantonese cuisine, open late every day. I really enjoy their succulent roast duck and the stir fry dishes are always really tasty. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in Chinatown/CBD.

05/08/2024 at 9:18 amI like their Congee! The menu I had during my latest visit included:
Stuffed Crab Claw
BBQ Pork
Fresh Shiitake Mushroom with Shanghai Bok Choi
Combination Congee
Hot Tea
The food arrived very quickly, and while the prices weren’t cheap, everything was good, especially the congee.

17/06/2024 at 9:08 amCame here March 2024 – one of the better Chinese restaurants I’ve had in the CBD, though I will say everything’s very salty & starchy.
For meats, we got a sweet and sour pork (#64) + roast duck (#44) + bean curd w sliced pork/mushroom (#73). For veg, we had chinese broccoli w garlic (#119) was good.
Overall, the food was really good. A bit too salty for my taste but can be adjusted. Good value too. The vibe is also very ‘authentic’ and I’d definitely return!
